In the dynamic world of environmental design, This blog post chronicles my exploration into the fusion of gaming aesthetics and natural elements, culminating in a Tetris-themed dreamscape emerging from the sea.
At first i search for references for giving me more ideas on how should the whole Tetris-themed dreamscape should look like.Ideas like Tetris cube falling from the sky,Tetris shape building and the board that show what is the next shape of Tetris cube falling give me much ideas on designing the whole wide view of the world.
The journey commenced with sketching and conceptualizing the layout. I try to add more element into the world to make it feel more special and colourful element that can add more highlight inside the world.I added bridge and becuase this Tetris-themed world ideas is based on a island in the middle of the sea.This phase allowed me to explore how the Tetris cubes could seamlessly integrate with the natural elements while maintaining a sense of balance and cohesion.
Leveraging the tools in Photoshop, I digitally sculpted each element with a focus on texture, lighting, and form. Outline was drawn to make the artwork feel more clean.Layers were instrumental in creating depth and maintaining a clear hierarchy within the composition.
After completed the whole drawing i realised that for this assignment we have to focusing on one hero items instead of sketching out the whole island(too many hero items),so i did not color the artwork but starting to make another Tetris-themed hero items with the similar ideas.
From the process i learned that every element of the dreamscape have to relate with the title(Tetris)even very small items to make sure everything integrated seamlessly.Perspective drawing was also a big challenges for me as i still havent really get used to perspective drawing.I will practiced more about perspective after this drawing.
