After completing the "Craigslist Website Redesign Prototype" assignment, we’ve moved on to our final project. This time, the task is to redesign two additional pages to complement the previous three pages (Homepage, About Us, and Helpdesk) we designed earlier. Once the prototypes are finalized, all five pages will be coded using HTML and CSS in Adobe Dreamweaver, creating a fully functional new version of the redesigned Craigslist website.
For this phase, I chose to focus on the "What's New" page and the "For Sale" page. Here’s a glimpse into the process:
1. What's New Page
The "What's New" page prototype emphasizes simplicity and accessibility. I started by adding a bold title centered at the top, followed by a row of selectable filters ("All," "A," "B," etc.), each contained in rounded boxes for a modern look. Below these filters, I allocated space for advertisements, including a large banner section and smaller promotion boxes for showcasing special deals and sales. Each section is clearly labeled to enhance user navigation and provide a streamlined experience.
2.For Sale Page
The "For Sale" page prototype was designed with functionality in mind. The layout begins with a straightforward header displaying the title prominently. Below the header, I implemented categorized sections, starting with featured items, followed by other sales. The design ensures a balance between text and imagery, making the page visually engaging without overwhelming the user. I also incorporated responsive elements, so the layout adapts seamlessly to different screen sizes.
For this blog, I’ll be showcasing only the prototype designs for these two pages. The coding and further enhancements will be covered in the next blog post, where I’ll dive into how the designs were translated into HTML and CSS using Adobe Dreamweaver.
